Please give me the exact message.  I don't see anything about switching to
any user in the code.  There is an error about 'Not running as UID
(whatever)' but that only ensures that it is actually running as the UID
that it is supposed to be setuid to.

This has nothing to do with whether or not the executable was installed
setuid properly.  Are you using the wrappers?  What are the permissions on
the installed executables?
