While I can see a couple of neat ways to do this and even do it neatly when
we have VERPs or our own VERP-like thing, I don't really see the utility.
Add another thing to the pile of things that other people might want to
look into doing, but not until we have mj_bounce to look at stuff coming
into the owner alias.
Of course, simply having a magic header that mj_command looks at to make it
ignore the message completely will work; if the alias is blown, the owner
will get a bounce. Then we put "Why am I getting all of these annoying
bounces" in the FAQ...

Conformity is nice; the problem is pushing for maximum conformity while
still letting a site that knows what its doing make the software do what it
wants. Having all Majordomo sites behave the same way upon initial contact
is an immense bonus; if we can say "it's a Majordomo list" and everyone
knows just what they need to do (and nobody grumbles about it), then we've
done our jobs. Right now I don't get that with, say, SmartList.
