Perhaps. When I started, removal of the wrapper was pointed out to me as
an important goal. That's why they're off by default. That and out of all
of the various systems I have here, I don't have a single one where the
wrappers are required. I certainly want people to think before they turn
on an option that generates some additional setuid executables. This is
security we're talking about, which is why I'm cautious.

To do that, they'd have to ignore absolutely every instruction that the
installation process gives. The ideal situation would be to have the
installer detect the need for wrappers somewhere, but I've been waiting for
someone to produce that code and so far nobody has.
