By the phrase "per-user accounting" I understood a desire to generate
data which indicates how many messages/lines/bytes are sent to any given
subscriber address. That would be a completely pointless feature.
However you are of course right that it would be nice to have a logfile
analysis tool which can be used to report (among other things) how many
messages/lines/bytes someone has posted.
But then, many things are much more urgently needed than that!
