Yes, I've lived through this debate more than once on perl5-porters.  I
just use it the way I learned it.  If there's someplace that the software
doesn't take both spellings, I need to fix it.

My only concern is that the documentation should be consistent.  I've used
'regexp' throughout when needing to use an abbreviation of 'regular
expression'; I saw 'regex' being used and figured that either they should
be changed to 'regexp' or that all occurrences of 'regexp' should be
changed to 'regex'.  Either one or the other (I don't care which) but not
both.
