Dejavu all over again! I thought this sounded familiar, so I did some
diffs, searched the archives, and decided this was fixed in 1.94.2 (see
http://www.hpc.uh.edu/majordomo-workers/9703/msg00021.html). Are you
sure you have the right version of digest? My 1.94.4 has the lines:

# $Date: 1997/08/27 14:42:52 $
