I don't know if it's related, but my sysadmin just tried to upgrade
Mj2 from the CVS tree as of Friday... install crashed with an infinite
loop, and the shell interface looped also. Something about "eval number"
where 'number' kept incrementing forever.
You say you're running the Nov 5 release... that's about when our
bad stuff was obtained.
I'm CCing Hayes, who was supposed to post a bug report here but
appears to not have done so yet. He's got the details (I hope).
If it's the same problem, you won't get a log file because the
tool is never getting started. Seems to be a loop in the perl parser???
Anyway, try running something from the command line, with "perl -w",
and see if you actually get a prompt.
