Since Brent will probably be busy running the BoF, would anyone else who's planning to attend volunteer to compile some notes to post back to the list? Postings have been sparse, so it might be nice to stir up some discussion again. -- Daniel Medina From network-automation-owner@greatcircle.com Mon Nov 14 15:29:09 2005 X-Original-To: network-automation@greatcircle.com Received: from mailhub.flytxt.com (mailhub.flytxt.com [193.128.230.162]) by mycroft.greatcircle.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id AAC5F32C3DE for ; Mon, 14 Nov 2005 15:29:06 -0800 (PST) Received: from FTLOL024 (85-210-149-255.dsl.pipex.com [85.210.149.255]) (authenticated (0 bits)) by mailhub.flytxt.com (8.11.6p2-20030924/8.11.6) with ESMTP id jAENSaA18507 for ; Mon, 14 Nov 2005 23:28:36 GMT Message-Id: <200511142328.jAENSaA18507@mailhub.flytxt.com> From: "Jason Lee" To: Subject: jlsync - a new wrapper for rsync Date: Mon, 14 Nov 2005 23:29:06 -0000 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="----=_NextPart_000_000C_01C5E973.34E1C7D0" X-Mailer: Microsoft Office Outlook, Build 11.0.6353 thread-index: AcXpczRnixe9ny69RCiq0+ZKE1lYBA== X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.2180 X-Archive-Number: 200511/2 X-Sequence-Number: 136 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_000C_01C5E973.34E1C7D0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, I thought the list might be interested in my new wrapper for rsync - jlsync. jlsync provides for software installation and host configuration management. You can use jlsync to solve some the problems cfengine solves or you can use it to do all your software installations (Saving you lots of time if you're still trying to roll your own local rpms and pkgs). It's still a work-in-progress but jlsync is already in daily use to manage development, QA, and production systems. Sharing the code publicly will hopefully motivate me to debug/document/clean-up/hack it a bit more. http://www.jlsync.com/ (be sure to click some the ads! ;-) Jason. ------=_NextPart_000_000C_01C5E973.34E1C7D0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
