"Zwicky" is a characteristically Swiss last name, from canton Glarus (specifically, from Mollis, where the Zwicky-haus is). As far as I know, I'm related to all the Zwickys in the world -- it's generally not hard to find the relationship for American Zwickys, it's often impossible for ones from other countries (especially Switzerland!) However, the two other Zwickys you might have heard of, Fritz Zwicky (the famous astronomer) and Arnold Zwicky (the linguist and soc.motss regular), are definitely relatives -- Fritz is a distant cousin, but Arnold is my father.
